Entrepreneurs, Don't Forget Who You Are
by Alex Charfen
We don't understand defeat because you only lose if you stop. And we don't know how. While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, we are the minority, the few who are willing to hallucinate. There could be a better future.
We are that small percentage of the population that goes into the future, creates a new reality, and comes back to the present, and demands it becomes real.
Alex Charfen, a business growth coach who helps entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses, gives practical, tangible, and actionable tips that you can implement into your business right now.
This is who we are and this is who we have always been. Everything around you including the device that you're reading this on was first imagined by an entrepreneur.
We can imagine a new reality and make it real, don't ever forget it.

[00:00:01] This is the Momentum podcast. I'm Alex Charfen, and this is the momentum podcast made for empire builders, game changers, trailblazers, shot takers, record breakers, world makers and creators of all kinds, those among us who can't turn it off and don't know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum so we can roll over bureaucracy and make our greatest contribution. Sure, we pay attention to their rules, but only so that we can bend them, break them, then rewrite them around our own will. We don't accept our destiny. We define it. We don't understand defeat because you only lose if you stop. And we don't know how. While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, we are the minority, the few who are willing to hallucinate. There could be a better future. And instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters, clearly the most important people in the world, because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution and we always will be.
Good afternoon. I only have a couple of minutes. I just got off a podcast with my friend Emily Riquet and I wanted to check in with every entrepreneur who follows me with every one of you who is out there right now and remind you who we are as entrepreneurs.
You know, Emily asked me an interesting question on this podcast, and it was a question that I think somebody asked her to ask me on on Instagram. She said, you know, with everything that's going on, with all of the challenges that are happening, the mandates that are happening, the impositions that are being pushed upon entrepreneurs, do I think that entrepreneurs are just going to give up and go away? Do I think that entrepreneurs are going to be pushed down and pushed away? Do I feel like, you know, somehow all the people in the world who are going to move the world forward just aren't going to do that. And I want to share my perspective with you of who I believe we are as entrepreneurs. I only have a couple of minutes because I have to jump on another podcast. So I'm going to try and make this count. I want to remind you of something of who we are.
Every entrepreneur has been through this scenario I'm about to share with you. It's that time in your life where you didn't have enough resources, you didn't have enough time, you didn't have the experience. You were either too old or too young. You had too much experience and you could see a new reality. You know, that small percentage of the population that gets up in the morning Travis into the future creates a new reality, comes back to the present and demands it becomes real. And there has been times in your life and times in my life where that light at the end of the tunnel that we see, that new reality that we're chasing is so far away, it feels almost impossible. And everyone around us is telling us, hey, that reality is and you're chasing that that thing. You think you're going to do that? It's a train. Get away from the tunnel. Get out of there. And instead, we as entrepreneurs, regardless of what is going on in the present, regardless of what's happening in our lives, we compelled that light towards us. We compel us towards it, and we create a new reality by stepping through that light and making what we want to have happen happened in the world. And every one of us has been there. Every one of us has been in that place where we couldn't move forward, where we didn't have what it takes, where the world around us was telling us that we just didn't have it. And that is where we become who we are. And I want you to know something about the current times that we live in, not what might get us out of this, but what will get us out of this. History has proven that over hundreds and hundreds of times that people just like you and me, entrepreneurs who see the world differently, who do not accept the reality this year, who challenge the status quo and want to go out and change the rules and understand and make the dent in the universe and create a new reality, are going to look at what's going on around us, rise above the noise, identify an opportunity into momentum and take the world with us. Here's what I want you to know. For us as entrepreneurs, the greater the obstacle, the greater the opportunity. The bigger the transition, the more there is for us to change the world. And I don't want us to forget that, because here's what I know is going to change the world that we're in right now for the better. Here's what I know is going to move us forward. Here's what I know is going to bring us together as humanity, as people just like you and I, getting up every single day and demanding this world become a better place and making sure we create the reality we want in this world and don't think that it can't happen because everything around you was first imagined by an entrepreneur. And I'll tell you what, most of them were ridiculed and called crazy and told that they couldn't do it and that the light at the end of the tunnel was a train. But they did it anyway and they created the world we live in today. So I want you to remember that and get up every single day and pursue the world you want to live in, because that is what is going to change things for the better, because that is what always has.
My podcast is starting. I've got to go. I'll be back again. There's just way too much pain in the world right now. Way too much frustration in entrepreneurs. And we need to understand we need to bundle up that pain, bundle up that frustration and use it as the motivation to make the change we want to see in the universe and to leave our dent in this world. We all need to to. "
