Eat To Win On The Hunt

As an evolutionary hunter you are a physiologically sensitive momentum based being that is highly reactive to constraints. This includes any kind of constraint. The constraint in our lives, in our thinking, and how we feel, and yes even the food we eat. There are more food options available for us then there have been at any other time in human history. 

Often there are three or four options within the same shopping center. The convenience and ease with which we can get food have increased consistently over the past 50 years. Today you don't even have to leave your house, in most areas you could have an endless supply of food delivered to you. 

In this age of advancement, why are so many people sick, exhausted, suffering from one of the many epidemics we have, and losing momentum due to their health? There is a reason, and there is a clear way for an evolutionary hunter to eat and win. Anything else is just a logical and will rob you of your momentum.

Those among us who can't turn it off, and don't know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum so we can roll over bureaucracy, and make our greatest contribution. Sure, we pay attention to their rules, but only so that we can break them, bend them, and then rewrite them around out own will.

We don't accept our destiny, we define it. We don't understand defeat, because you only lose if you stop, and we don't know how. While the rest of the world strives for average, and clings desperately to the status quo, we are the minority, the few who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future, and instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. Clearly the most important people in the world, because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

Thanks for being here on this episode of the podcast, Eat to Win, On the Hunt. Now this is a different topic that I think I've been taking a long time to do this one because food is so emotional for people. And my guess is that food is probably emotional for you as well. And when I look at the vast majority of entrepreneurs today, I see evolutionary hunters who should look like the physiologically sensitive, momentum based beings that they are, but so often we're eating the wrong foods, and it is robbing us of our momentum. Food is taking away our ability to create. It's taking away our focus, our ability to be present. And I want you to understand something about food today. You are being manipulated more than you ever have been in the history of food.

The food companies in the world today, the process companies out there, that are making food products for people like us to pick up and eat conveniently, are manipulating you. They are controlling you. They are getting you to do things that you don't want to do. Let me just give you one example. At Frito-Lay, there is an entire lab full of chemists, and scientists, and food scientists, and food creators, that are working with chemicals, and preservatives, and flavorings, and neuro-toxins, and neuro-stimulants, so that they're making foods that compel you to eat more.

Today, processed food is a manipulation. So here's how you eat to win, on the hunt. You stop eating processed foods. And I know that sounds crazy, but I want you to understand something. The only food that is processed, and safe for you to eat, 100 percent, is when you've done the processing yourself. You are an evolutionary hunter. Nutrition, and the phytonutrients, macronutrients, micronutrients available in whole food products, along with the enzymes, and everything else that you need, will give you the presence, and awareness, to go out and make your greatest contribution, build the biggest company you can, get to the biggest outcomes you possibly can.

The challenge you have, though, is if you opt in to the manipulation that everyone else is today, and you eat processed foods, you are literally turning control of your nervous system, of your body, of your metabolism, and of your success, over to the companies that make the garbage foods. And here's what I'm talking about. Here are the big five, the things that you have to avoid. One, added sugars. Two, artificial sweeteners. Three, colors and dyes. Four, natural and artificial flavors, and five, chemicals and preservatives. Let's just go through these one at a time.

sugars, today, 80 percent of the products in the supermarket have ... not artificial sugars, sorry, added sugars. Today, 80 percent of the products in the supermarket have added sugars. That is at an all-time high for the history of food products. So you don't want to eat foods with added sugars. They completely change the way our metabolism works. And here's why they're being added. Sugar, salt, and fat are being added to the foods that you're eating, because, in the right combination, those three nutrients, sugar, salt, and fat, will compel you to continue eating more. That whole Lay's Potato Chips, "Bet you can't eat just one," that's not just a marketing slogan, that's a warning statement. They make sure you can't eat just one.

When we look at artificial sweeteners, guys, you gotta, come on. This is not a place where we, as evolutionary hunters, and entrepreneurial personality types, can bend at all. Aspartame, one of the worst products in the history of all food, 75 percent of the complaints coming into the FDA are around aspartame, an artificial sweetener. When you look at aspartame, at what it does to the human body, the FDA has published papers that there are over 92 known effects of aspartame, like brain-fog, hair falling out, trouble with concentration, trouble with vision, skin lesions, rashes, anaphylactic responses. I mean it is insane how much this artificial sweetener does to human beings.

And today, things are only getting worse. Because the FDA recently approved two new artificial sweeteners. Neotame, which if you understand Greek and Latin roots means new tame, aspartame is getting a lot of heat, so what do they do? They created new tame. And then Advantame, which again, if you know about Greek and Latin roots, they're saying a better tame, well both of these products are derivatives of aspartame, which was originally a pesticide product, that somebody accidentally tasted in a lab, and found that it was sweet. They've now refined them, and refined them, and refined them, and aspartame's a few hundred times stronger than sugar. Advantame and Neotame? Tens of thousands of times stronger than sugar.

What are these products, really? They're neurotoxins. When you put a neurotoxin on the tongue, it registers as sweet. When you put one of these neurotoxins on the tongue, it registers as sweet. There is no sweet product in your mouth. There is no sweet food. So it is literally manipulating your nervous system to taste sweetness, when it isn't there. The host of things that this does to the human body are ridiculous. It prepares your body for sweet, and for nutrients, but it's not there, so then you get hungrier. You actually eat low-sugar foods, and it makes you eat more. You start craving carbohydrates, craving sugars. It's been proven throughout the world, that if you drink a lot of sodas, or drinks with artificial sweeteners, you will gain weight. So how is it we reduce calories and gain weight? Because these foods are absolute poison.

And here's the kicker. Advantame, Neotame, they no longer have to be on a label. Food companies are allowed to use these, in trace amounts, in food products, without ever telling you they're there. So aspartame had 75 percent of the complaints to the Food and Drug Administration for all foods? Advantame and Neotame ... the FDA and the food companies have figured out an interesting way that it'll probably have no complaints, because nobody will know that they're eating them. You have to opt out of food manipulation. You are an evolutionary hunter. Take control of your body, because everything you put in your mouth has a hormonal consequence to you, and the world around you.

When we look at colors and dyes, this is like a joke. Colors and dyes were approved in the '60s and '70s, and some in the '50s, and the fact is that the artificial dyes we use today have been proven to be neurotoxic. They've been proven to exacerbate conditions like ADD, ADHD, bipolar, depression, all kinds of different physiological effects, psychological effects. Why? So that we can have some colors in our food. So that the little sparkles on your Dorito chips are blue and red, and colors that really, let's be honest, do not even exist in nature.

When we go to the next section, natural and artificial flavors, flavors, whether they're natural or artificial, are now some of the most dangerous products in foods. Because what food manufacturers are doing, is they're finding chemicals that create a flavor effect, and they're using them in your food. Here's what's shocking, that so many people don't understand, is that many of these products, sweeteners, colors, dyes, flavors, and then the last category, chemicals, like preservatives, and emulsifiers, and thickeners, all of these together, I want you to hear this, barely any of them have ever undergone any type of testing. Any type of trials. Any type of real, human, like should we use this product with people?

And when they do get tested, here's what's so shocking, is that the Food and Drug Administration might require the test of a chemical, or an individual color, or an individual sweetener, an individual preservative. But what has never been tested, in a lab, on animals, or on people, is the combination of the toxic sludge of chemicals that are included in so many food products today.

You know, Cadey and I went to a normal supermarket about eight months ago, I don't really go to normal supermarkets that much, but it was a holiday, so I think it was Easter, or something like that, so maybe my timing's off, but we walked in, and there was this sea of neon cakes, and cookies, and everything, and I picked one of them up, and there was at least 75 different chemicals, colors, sweeteners, and flavors, that I couldn't pronounce. In one food product. So we go from some testing into a lab, and saying, "Hey, these products are okay," to then putting 75 of them in a cake, and we wonder why we feel sick afterwards.

You must opt out of food manipulation. Here's how you do it. You start eating real foods. You start eating foods that look like the original package. You eat healthy meats that are grass fed, and hopefully pre range, and have just the meat product in them. And you go and you eat healthy fruits, healthy vegetables, organic when you can find it, and eat foods in their original packaging. Don't get all of the manipulated, trumped up, over-flavored, crazy stuff. Because here's what happens. The more you eat processed foods, the more your body will crave processed foods. The more you condition your body to get the hopped up, over-flavored, over-rich, over-sweetened foods, the more your body will call for those foods.

And so every time you say, "Hey, I only have a few minutes, I'm just gonna grab a quick burger through a drive-through, you have to understand that it's not the burger through the drive-through you're committing to, it's the next two or three days of food cravings. It's the next two or three days of metabolic adjustment your body's making. It's the next two or three days of echo effect of the toxic effect of eating these foods.

So here's what I train my clients to do, and here's the process they go through. One, they start drinking more water than they've ever though possible. And what will naturally happen as you drink more water, here's what everybody tells me, they naturally want more fruits, vegetables, and healthy foods. And one of the biggest challenges we have, as human beings today, especially as entrepreneurial personality types, evolutionary hunters that are pushing limits, going out, making things happen, and creating momentum, is that we feel brain-fog, we feel tired, we feel fatigued, we feel like we've been slowed down, like we really can't go and get the momentum we want. Well guys, here's the fact.

We are physiologically sensitive, momentum based beings, that are highly reactive to constraint. If you open your mouth, and you introduce constraint, for yourself, for your kids, for the people around you, there is going to be an effect. And here's the challenge. So many of us, today, eat so poorly, and our body is so overfed, but undernourished, that we don't even feel the pressure and noise from eating garbage foods. We don't even feel the rebound effect from eating processed foods. We don't even feel how much it's really taking from us. We've learned how to get used to being tired at 3:00 in the afternoon. We've learned how to get used to being exhausted at the end of the day. We've learned how to get used to feeling hungover in the morning. All of those things are ridiculous. You're an evolutionary hunter. You are meant to go all the time. You are meant to get up, and get everything you can out of the day.

It doesn't make sense to allow these companies, that have created not foods, but let's be honest, food-like-products, to manipulate you. So here's what I want you to remember. To eat and win on the hunt, eat whole foods. Eat the healthiest food choices you can. Lower your risk, and increase your reward. Anywhere I go, I ask myself, "What's the lowest risk thing on this menu? What's the highest reward thing on this menu? So how can I get not fried, not dipped in batter, not breaded, none of that garbage?" You know, I'll be really honest with you. This is not an easy way to live. But easy isn't always how you create momentum. In fact, easy rarely creates momentum. It's through pushing ourselves, it's through creating bigger goals, it's through making ourselves go toward something that we create momentum.

This weekend, Cadey and I went to a wedding, and people always ask me, "How do you guys handle weddings?" Because we don't eat wheat, we don't eat soy, we don't eat a lot of the things that most people eat. We just don't touch them, because we know how much they've been corrupted, and manipulated. I mean the nutritional value of wheat has gone down 40 percent in the last 40 years. Our bodies are now treating wheat as toxic, because it doesn't contain the amount of nutrients that it used to contain, and let's be really clear, it contains way more glyphosphate than any food ever has. Just look up glyphosphate in typical foods, and you'll see.

Cheerios has I don't know, 10 times the acceptable FDA limit of glyphosphate, which is an endocrine disruptor, and messes with your kidney, your liver, I mean we have an epidemic of people having blood sugar issues. We have an epidemic of people having exhaustion, and fatigue, and adrenal issues. We have an epidemic of women having issues with their hormones. We have an epidemic of men having low testosterone. These are all coming from somewhere. The easiest place to look is our food supply.

Here's the glory of all of this. You can opt out. We went to a wedding this weekend, we just didn't eat the food. We left, and we went and ate somewhere else, because we knew that if we had eaten the food, that they have served at this buffet, at the wedding, all four of us would have been sick. And here's what I've learned, and I want you to think about.

When I eat something ... you know people say, "Oh, I'm just gonna have this chocolate cake this one time, or I'm just gonna have one cupcake, or It's so and so's birthday, so I'm gonna just go ahead and do this," the fact is, what you're saying is, "It's so and so's birthday, so I'm gonna trade the next three days of presence and awareness for a cupcake. We're celebrating, so I'm gonna go ahead and poison myself with neurotoxic dyes, added sugars, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners, in order to celebrate a friend of mine. It's a holiday, so I'm going to take a massive dose of processed sugars, processed colors, and preservatives and chemicals, because I really feel like that is how we should give thanks. I'm kidding here, but I'm not. Because I'm that serious about this.

If you sat down, and somebody said, "Hey, you have a choice. You can either be in high momentum for the next three days, or you can eat that cupcake," it would not be a choice for any of us. We wouldn't eat the cupcake. The problem is, when we're walking up to the cupcake, we're not thinking about the next three days. We're not thinking about the momentum we're in. We're not thinking about how much we're doing in our lives, and how much we're achieving, and how much we can create new outcomes, and go forward, and make new things happen in the world. We're thinking about the freaking cupcake.

And there is a maturity to being an evolutionary hunter. There is a knowledge base that goes along with being somebody like us, who creates radical success. And one of those things is that you start realizing that your body is directly connected to your mind. And the stronger that bond is, the easier you can create new outcomes, see around corners, create the future, and do what we have to do, as entrepreneurs. When you lock in on this, when you finally accept this, when you know this as fact, everything in your life will change.

The more I use my body, the more my mind is vital, and ready to make decisions, and ready to create momentum. And yours will be too.

So here's my final plea with you. Unless you are willing to hand over your success to Kellogg's, and General Mills, and Frito-Lay, and every other crap processed food company that's out there, my plea with you is that you opt out of the food manipulation in the market today. Stop eating out of bags, cans, and boxes. Go out and start eating natural foods. Healthy foods. Whole foods. Try it for 30 days, and you will never go back.

And they are five days in, and they're shocked at how much different things are. How much weight they've already lost. And how much detoxing they did, just in the first three days. It shows you what we've done to our bodies, over time.

When you opt out of the manipulation of processed foods, everything in your body will change. Your metabolism will return to normal. Your body-weight will regulate. Your energy will go through the roof, and you will create more momentum. So today, tomorrow, for the rest of this week, especially this week, because it's Thanksgiving weekend, you might not be listening to this podcast on Thanksgiving week, but it's Thanksgiving weekend. This week, think to yourself. Are you allowing yourself to be manipulated, or are you creating momentum with what you put in your mouth, and you will have an entire change coming from your physiology. You will feel an entire change in your motivation, and your momentum. And if you're ready to take your life to the next level, opt out of food manipulation.
